CHRYSOBERYL GEMSTONE
One variety of chrysoberyl is Alexandrite. It is the rare, color changing variety. Chrysoberyl is a little known, very durable gemstone with a hardness of 8.5 on the mohs scale. It has a resemblance to yellow sapphire. The refractive index is 1.745 to 1.757 and the crystal system is orthorhombic. Keep in mind that we can mount any of the loose chrysoberyl listed below in jewelry of your choice. We have the following genuine chrysoberyl gemstones in our stock:
