Danburite, CaB2Si2O8, is most often a clear gemstone but can also be shades of yellow, pink or brown. Danburite is not a well known gemstone but is growing in popularity. It was originally discovered under what is now Danbury, Connecticut. Today, it is still found in the USA, Mexico, Japan, Burma and Switzerland. The hardness is 7 - 7.5 on the mohs scale.
