Quartz is the most common mineral on the face of the Earth.   It is also the most varied in terms of varieties, colors and forms. This variety comes about because of the abundance and widespread distribution of quartz.  On this page we will feature unusual gemstones including tourmalated quartz, rutilated quartz, dendritic quartz, rose quartz, epidote quartz, champagne quartz, crystal quartz, praisiolite (green amethyst) and other varieties.   Amethyst, citrine & smokey quartz are prominent quartz varieties and are featured on their own web pages.
