SCAPOLITE

Scapolite is a little known gemstone that can be quite
beautiful.
Most common colors are a nice yellow to orange to pink or violet.
The hardness of scapolite as a gemstone is on the softer side, being
5.5
to 6.0 on the mohs scale. The refractive index is 1.54 to 1.60
and
the crystal system is tetragonal. Gemstone mining occurs in
Brazil,
Madagascar, Switzerland and Burma. Click on the "PIC"
