PERIDOT GEMSTONES

Peridot is the birthstone for August.  It is found in Burma, Norway, Pakistan, Hawaii, Arizona and in some meteorites.  It is found in different shades of yellow/green and is rated at 6.5 to 7.0 on the mohs scale of hardness.  The refractive index is 1.630 to 1.695 and the crystal system is orthorhombic.  More information on Peridot is here.  To view our finished peridot jewelry, click here.
