HELIODOR (GOLDEN BERYL) GEMSTONES
Heliodor, Be3Al2Si6O18, is the yellow/green variety of beryl, commonly called golden beryl or green beryl. Heliodor is found in Madagascar, Russia and Brazil. It has a refractive index of 1.57- 1.60 and a hardness of 7.5 to 8.0 on the mohs scale, making it an extremely durable gemstone for jewelry use. The crystal system is hexagonal.
