PRECIOUS and IMPERIAL TOPAZ GEMSTONES
Topaz is a popular gemstone that has been used for centuries for
jewelry. The golden brown and yellow colors are classic and are the
birthstone for November but are sometimes
confused with the less valuable citrine. All topaz are very durable as
they are 8 on the mohs scale of hardness. The refractive index is
1.61 to 1.64 with an orthorhombic crystal system. Most of our
topaz comes from Minas Gerais, Brazil.
